The Ernest Hemingway haunt is the Harry's Bar in Paris
I believe this establishment belongs to Park Lane Hotel itself.
It is a small place, but it is very nice. The bartender was very personable and nice. It's a little expensive, but it's quiet and classy.
BIG$$$ FOR LITTLE FOOD AND NOT THE BEST DRINKS..............
No atmosphere, poor disinterested service. I like this hotel, but don't bother with the bar.
Overpriced, but that is not unusual in NYC.
Bartender must have called out sick and they had the janitor fill in, what a joke. He addressed my daughter and I as gentleman, not once but twice. Asked him what style beer Sam Adams Cold Snap was and he tells me Boston Lager, when I asked again he muttered something incoherent. What a joke.
Poor service given the other standards were well upheld; jazz, view and drinks. Wouldn't recommend it and would not go back. Buy a beer outside and drink it in your room. Won't take 20 minutes and will cost zip!😎
The food is terrible even for barfood the alcoholic beverages were not made correctly and the servers were not very pleasant neither were the bartenders
Neat bar. Obviously a place for people who have a lot of money.
Be very careful of this restaurant. Was with 2 other people and they automatically charged 20% gratuity and didn’t give an itemized receipt. When I asked for an itemized receipt, as I didn’t understand how the bill was so high, they were very reluctant and questionable to do so. Server was very obviously trying to get an additional tip on top of the 20% automatically included.Food was just OK and I paid $20 for a Woodford reserve. I get that it’s a hotel restaurant, but it’s still unrealistic pricing, even for convince.
Terrible service, I flew in late and needed something to eat - the Park Lane Hotel has no room service so I went down to Harry’s. Was sitting for 25 minutes before anyone spoke to me, I walked out!
Great and decadent bar for a cocktail served superbly by the bartender.
Seriously one of the worst bars I encountered. While it was nice to sit and talk the staff was rude and the food was not fresh and overpriced.
This was a great venue for new years eve, great vibe and plenty of selection on drinks
Ok
Harry's NY is a great place, just not this one. I only came for drinks, and I'm used to Harry's having a seasoned bartender making great cocktails. At this Harry's NY, the bartender knows less than a bartender at Friday's or Applebee's, and makes cocktails that I would expect at those places, but charges Harry's NY prices (read: expensive)....I mean no offense to Friday's or Applebee's, they don't charge $15-20 per cocktail, and provide excellent service. I would have been happier at either than my visit to Harry's in the Park Lane hotel. And to reiterate, I've been to other Harry's NY that were knock my socks off excellent.
No clue why Google is asking me to rate this place because I've never been here. Looks nice though!
With so many good options in the area, don't waste your time here. Drinks are overpriced and service is poor. Then again why bother providing good service when you are guaranteed 20% gratuity.
Awful customer service. We were informed that we could have room service from Harry's bar whilst stopping at the park lane hotel. However when I rang through to order, I was greeted with an unpleasant member of staff informing me that they do not do room service and then hung up the phone.
Just go!
It was only my second time to New York, I was staying there, at the hotel, and met up with a friend from high school. I discovered Harry's to be a wonderfully quaint bar with outrageously fabulous food!!!
Good place to have a scotch or martini after-work or before a client dinner. The service is great, and the atmosphere is very lush. Very convenient as well!
Friendly staff. Great service. Nice views of South Central Park.
It took 20 minutes to get acknowledged then another 20 to get a drink while sitting at the bar. The bartender only ordered my fries and not my sandwich so 30 minutes later when I received my COLD fries I was told the kitchen was closed. He refused to admit he screwed up my order and of course a 20% gratuity was added for horrible service. The man never made eye contact and barely spoke English. After working a 14 hour day and starving this was a disaster! Two thumbs down.
😡 DO NOT RECOMMEND 😡 This place looked good as we were staying in the hotel. The food tasted great until my daughter found 2 hairs in her macaroni and cheese . There was also a hair in the bar nuts mix. After that ruins your appetite you have to wait 30 minutes to get your ticket. Then the host very rudely checks the ticket before you leave the table. The check automatically had 20% gratuity and needless to say due to rude service and slow service we didn’t feel the need to add any on top. It was a slow day as well- so we weren’t there during peak times.
Very good place and attention is to recommend
waiters are a disaster, check the bill
coffee here is really great like to spend morning time here
The only reason I even gave this place two stars is because of our waiter who was very friendly, other than that I would definitely not recommend this restaurant. Our water glass was dirty, the lettuce used in our salads were so old and wilted and didn’t have most of the Ingredients that were listed on the menu.
Good
all ok
Well known bar located at New York Park Lane Hotel.
We had been everywhere this day and I wanted a cocktail. I wanted a bar with a view. We got lucky and met the bartender who’s been here like 30 years. We had such a fabulous visit, it was so nice to get off my feet and have great conversation with a person who knows the area. It had just snowed the day before so the view from the dining room was gorgeous. But back to my cocktail, he made the best espresso martini ever!
30 dollar drinks? WTF. Sad thing is, they were delicious. Skilled bartenders. Old world elegance.
